MoraKey 1.4.11–1.4.16: fix tone marks after typing, change text case, and the new key.mora.vn

Six updates across September 25 and 26 help MoraKey understand Vietnamese more naturally: you can backspace to fix a tone mark even after finishing a word, flexible tone marks now work after currency amounts and in joined words, and Central Highlands place names and abbreviations with Đ come out right. Ctrl+Shift+F3 quickly cycles text between lowercase, UPPERCASE and Title Case in any app. MoraKey’s home page moves to key.mora.vn, with a page crediting the people who contributed feedback.

New features 6

MoraKeyChange text case in any app

Select some text and press Ctrl+Shift+F3 to cycle through lowercase, UPPERCASE and Title Case, in any app. You can switch to Ctrl+Alt+F3 or turn it off on the Utilities (Tiện ích) tab (1.4.13, 1.4.15).

MoraKeyFix tone marks after finishing a word

If a finished word has the wrong mark, backspace past the space to the broken letter and retype the mark: viết, two backspaces, then jt gives việt. Extra tone keys can be corrected too (1.4.12).

MoraKeyFlexible tone marks after amounts and in joined words

Typing 10000vnđ/ngày, 500k/tháng, rồi.đi or báo-cáo.docx now produces correct Vietnamese, while code and technical names such as nginx.conf and Math.pow are left as typed (1.4.13).

MoraKeyImport shortcuts from a CSV file

The Import from CSV… button on the Shortcuts tab imports a whole shortcut table prepared in Excel; MoraKey places a sample file in your Documents folder (1.4.14).

MoraKeyContributor credits

The key.mora.vn/ghicong page and a credits section in the app honor the people whose feedback helps make MoraKey better (1.4.13).

MoraKeyNew home at key.mora.vn

MoraKey’s product page, downloads and user guide move to the short address key.mora.vn; the old address redirects automatically, and installed copies keep receiving updates as before.

Improvements 6

MoraKeyProper names mid-sentence come out right

Flexible tone marks now work for capitalized proper names in the middle of a sentence, such as Tiếng Việt, Đà Nẵng and Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu, while proper names in English sentences in Word or Zalo are left as typed (1.4.11, 1.4.12).

MoraKeyCentral Highlands place names and abbreviations with Đ

Đắk Lắk, Krông and Prông come out right; holding Shift and typing DDHQG gives ĐHQG, and likewise ĐBSCL and ĐCSVN; a-xít and leading dashes get correct tone marks; and headings typed with Caps Lock on keep their accents (1.4.16).

MoraKeySingle-key shortcuts in design apps work normally

With MoraKey on, single-letter shortcuts in design and photo editing apps keep working (1.4.11).

MoraKeyConfirmation before replacing a duplicate shortcut

When you add a shortcut whose key already exists, MoraKey asks before overwriting it (1.4.11).

MoraKeyFile lists and the desktop leave keys untouched

In File Explorer file lists, on the desktop and in Open or Save dialogs, keys typed to jump to a file are passed through unchanged, while renaming a file with F2 still supports Vietnamese. This can be turned off on the Utilities tab (1.4.14).

MoraKeyTidier tray menu; Update now installs the latest version

The tray menu is streamlined, with Open control panel… highlighted, and the Update now button always fetches the latest version (1.4.14).

Fixes 2

MoraKeyStandalone ươ and the password hint field

Typing uow on its own now gives ươ; the Windows Password hint field accepts Vietnamese; and the uppercase word CỦ comes out correctly (1.4.11, 1.4.14).

MoraKeyNo more clash with Find Previous

The change-case shortcut moves from Shift+F3 to Ctrl+Shift+F3 so it no longer conflicts with Find Previous in web browsers and Notepad (1.4.15).
