Office-style File tab, Word/Excel-style ribbons, QR code licensing, and the new O3O Doc name
O3O Office shipped three back-to-back updates on September 14. The File tab now opens a full-window backstage view like Microsoft Office, the ribbons in all four apps were reorganized to match Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and a licensing system arrived with in-app payment by bank QR code. The word processor was renamed O3O Doc, and the interface gained 10 languages, one-click Vietnamese/English and Light/Dark toggles, and automatic updates.
New features 12
GeneralFull-window File tab, just like Office
Clicking the File (Tệp) tab opens a full-window view with a navigation pane for Home, New, Open, Info, Save, Save As, Print, Export, Close, Account and Options. The left pane carries the app’s color, with quick-create tiles for each document type, recent documents shown as a thumbnail grid, and buttons that light up softly on hover.
GeneralNew page with app-specific templates
The New page in the File tab lists templates for the app you’re using, with thumbnails. Choosing a template opens a new document based on it, leaving the original template untouched.
DocWord-style ribbon layout
The word processor’s ribbon is rearranged to match Word: Design, Mailings and Help tabs are added, and the rarely used Tools tab is removed.
SheetExcel-style ribbon layout
O3O Sheet places the Page Layout, Formulas and Help tabs where Excel users expect them, and drops the Tools tab.
SlidePowerPoint-style ribbon layout
O3O Slide adds Transitions, Animations and Help tabs and renames the Slide Show tab. Opening the app takes you straight to a presentation, with no template picker popping up.
PDFStreamlined O3O PDF with a Help tab
O3O PDF adds a Help tab, removes the Tools tab and hides the menu bar to give the PDF page more room.
LicensingLicensing with bank QR code payment
The free edition includes every feature, with an ad that can be skipped after 10 seconds. One-year and lifetime licenses can be bought right inside the app by scanning a bank QR code, or on the purchase page at office.o3o.vn; if you already have a key, just enter it to activate. The License dialog is available from both the Help tab and the File tab.
LicensingLicense certificate and invoice
Right after activation you can download a license certificate and an invoice as PDF files. The certificate can be publicly verified at office.o3o.vn/xac-thuc. Business customers simply enter their tax ID and the company name and address are filled in automatically.
GeneralAutomatic update checks
The software checks for a new version every day; to check right away, click Check for Updates on the Help tab.
General10 interface languages
The interface is available in 10 languages: Vietnamese, English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese. Each language is listed in its own script in the language picker, so everyone can find theirs.
GeneralVi/En and Light/Dark buttons on the Quick Access Toolbar
The Quick Access Toolbar in all four apps has a Vi / En button to switch the interface language and a Light / Dark button to change the color mode.
SheetDrag headers to move columns and rows
Select an entire column or row and drag its header to a new position to move the data; the move can be undone with Ctrl+Z.
Improvements 8
DocO3O Write is now O3O Doc
The word processor is renamed O3O Doc. In Windows, the Open with and Default apps lists now show the correct names: O3O Doc, O3O Sheet, O3O Slide and O3O PDF.
GeneralPer-app accent colors
On Windows 11, the window title bar and the ribbon tab row take on the color of the open app, so you can see at a glance whether you’re in Doc, Sheet, Slide or PDF.
GeneralCleaner Start screen
The Start screen now shows only buttons to create a Document, Spreadsheet, Presentation and Drawing / PDF, with unused entries removed; the left pane switches to navy with white text.
GeneralFamiliar default fonts and sizes
New documents use Times New Roman 13 pt and new spreadsheets use 11 pt; spreadsheet cells are wider so numbers aren’t cut off.
GeneralFewer startup notices and quicker default-app setup
The “default file formats are not registered” notice no longer appears on every launch. The Set as default app button opens the Windows Default apps page directly.
GeneralClearer icons
The Undo and Redo icons and disabled buttons are drawn with stronger lines, and custom-drawn interface elements render crisply on high-resolution displays.
GeneralFirst full pass of the Vietnamese translation
About 12,400 interface strings were translated into Vietnamese, covering nearly every menu, ribbon and dialog across all four apps.
GeneralDocumentation and business website
office.o3o.vn now has an introduction in Vietnamese and English, screenshots, user guides for each app, terms of service, a privacy policy, payment information and a feedback page.
Security 1
LicensingStronger license verification
Licenses are verified with a digital signature directly on the computer, even offline, and checked daily for revocation to protect customers who have purchased a license.

WindowsVietnamese interface on any Windows PC
The bundled language packs are always fully installed, so the Vietnamese interface works even on computers running English-language Windows.
WindowsShortcuts for each app
The installer creates O3O Doc, O3O Sheet, O3O Slide and O3O PDF shortcuts in the Start menu and on the desktop; the final screen offers a “Launch O3O Office now” checkbox.
WindowsBackground launcher for instant opening
O3O Office runs in the background from the system tray and starts with Windows, so documents open almost instantly.
WindowsO3O-branded install folder and file associations
The program installs into an O3O Office folder, and office file types are registered with Windows under O3O’s own names.
