MORA Office 26.10.1: redesigned ribbon, 100+ new commands and a full quality review

MORA Office 26.10.1 is the biggest Windows update yet. The window frame, ribbon, Start screen and status bar of MORA Doc, Sheet, Slide and PDF have been redesigned around the familiar office layout, with more than 100 new commands including Flash Fill (Ctrl+E), SmartArt, Insert Icons, Read Aloud, a Mailings tab, a Recording tab and fillable PDF form fields. The release also adds many tools built specifically for Vietnamese users: 9 administrative document templates that follow Decree 30/2020, conversion of legacy TCVN3/VNI text to Unicode, functions that spell out amounts of money in words, and search and spell checking that understand both Vietnamese tone-mark conventions. Before release, every change was reviewed and every ribbon button in all four apps was tested, fixing many hangs, crashes and formatting losses when exchanging files with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

New features 36

GeneralRedesigned ribbon and icon set across all four apps

The ribbon tabs in MORA Doc, Sheet, Slide and PDF have been reorganized into the familiar office groups: Clipboard, Font, Paragraph, Styles, Editing on Home; Pages, Tables, Illustrations, Links, Header and Footer, Text, Symbols on Insert; and so on. Every app gains a Draw tab, MORA PDF gets a Forms tab, and every tab ends with an Add-ins group for opening the extension manager and running commands from installed extensions. On a 1280-pixel-wide screen no group is collapsed, and Ruler, Gridlines, Formula Bar and Headings can be toggled with checkboxes right on the View tab. Hundreds of ribbon and menu commands have been redrawn in a consistent thin-line icon set, with a dedicated version for dark mode. Each app has its own accent color on the window frame and active buttons: blue for Doc, green for Sheet, orange for Slide and red for PDF.

GeneralNew title bar with document tabs and MORA service shortcuts

The title bar shows the document name in the center, the Quick Access Toolbar (Print, Undo, Redo, a Light/Dark toggle, plus Slide Show in Slide) and an AutoSave switch. When two or more documents are open, they appear as tabs in the title bar so you can switch between them, with buttons to close a tab or open another document. The Cloud, Meet, Mail and Chat buttons open MORA services directly, the ⋯ button customizes the Quick Access Toolbar, and the button for collapsing the ribbon sits in the bottom-right corner, as in other familiar office suites.

GeneralNew Start screen

The Start screen offers a document search box, New cards for Document, Spreadsheet, Presentation and PDF Document, a recent files list shown as a list or as cards with pinning, filters, and relative edit times (“edited 2 hours ago”). The Templates page uses a card layout with Vietnamese administrative document templates at the top, and you can switch between light and dark mode right from the screen.

GeneralSmarter status bar and accessibility checks in every app

The status bar shows Accessibility: Good / Needs review (documents are checked in the background while the computer is idle), a view switcher and a language field with a quick-pick menu. MORA Slide adds Notes and Comments buttons, and MORA Sheet adds a print preview button. Check Accessibility is now available in MORA Sheet, Slide and PDF as well, helping you spot problems for readers who rely on assistive technology before you send a document out. Background check results appear right in the status bar.

GeneralRead Aloud

The Read Aloud button (Review › Speech) reads the selected text aloud, or reads from the cursor position in MORA Doc, using Windows voices; Vietnamese text is read with a Vietnamese voice when one is installed. Click again to stop.

GeneralInsert icons from a library of 491, plus screenshots

The Icons button (Insert › Illustrations) opens a library of 491 icons in 12 categories, with search by name and multi-select. Icons are inserted as 1-inch vector shapes that stay sharp at any size. The Screenshot button (Insert › Illustrations) opens the Windows snipping tool and pastes the captured area straight into your document. Available in all four apps.

GeneralSmartArt diagrams

The SmartArt button (Insert › Illustrations) opens a gallery of six diagram types with previews: list, process, cycle, hierarchy, pyramid and matrix. Each line of text you enter becomes a box; the diagram is grouped as a single object and its font size adapts to the diagram's width. In Doc the diagram is placed at the cursor, in Sheet at the selected cell, and in Slide and PDF in the middle of the page.

GeneralOnline Video and Read Mode

The Online Video button accepts a video URL: YouTube videos are inserted as a preview image with a link, while other sites, or inserting while offline, produce a text link. Read Mode (View › Views) switches to a full-screen, fit-to-page view, and MORA Doc shows two pages side by side. Exiting with the button, the Esc key or the Full Screen command restores your previous layout and zoom level.

GeneralWorking with multiple windows

View › Window offers Arrange All (tile your document windows) and View Side by Side (place the current document next to another one). MORA Doc also adds Split (open a second window of the same document, stacked top and bottom) and Synchronous Scrolling: scroll one window and the other Doc windows follow.

GeneralConvert TCVN3 and VNI text to Unicode

TCVN3 and VNI are legacy Vietnamese font encodings from before Unicode that are still common in older files. When you open a document, spreadsheet or presentation that uses fonts such as .VnTime (TCVN3) or VNI-Times, MORA shows an info bar with a Convert to Unicode button. Text is converted using the TCVN 5712:1993 and VNI-Windows code tables, fonts are switched to Times New Roman, Arial or Courier New, and the language is set to Vietnamese, including in paragraph styles, all in a single undo step. Text already in Unicode, links and formulas are left untouched. Older documents become searchable and can be spell-checked.

GeneralDocument classification under Vietnam's state secrets law

The document classification bar includes a Vietnamese policy based on the 2018 Law on Protection of State Secrets, with the levels Unclassified, Confidential, Secret and Top Secret (Thông thường, Mật, Tối mật, Tuyệt mật), and automatically stamps MẬT, TỐI MẬT or TUYỆT MẬT in the header, footer and watermark. The policy follows the interface language rather than the system region, so it also works on computers with an English regional setting.

GeneralSave directly as PDF from Save As

As in Word, the Save As dialog in Doc, Sheet and Slide includes PDF as a file type. The document you are working on keeps its original format after the PDF copy is saved.

GeneralInsert several images at once, choose the page when inserting a PDF

The Insert Picture dialog in Doc, Slide and PDF lets you select several files at once: in Doc each image goes into a new paragraph in the order you selected them, while in Slide and PDF the images are staggered 1 cm apart. When you insert a multi-page PDF as an image, MORA asks which page to use instead of always taking the first one.

Doc9 administrative document templates following Decree 30/2020

Decree 30/2020/ND-CP sets the official format for administrative documents in Vietnam. A new Administrative Documents template group includes an official letter, decision, proposal, announcement, report, invitation, meeting minutes, contract and leave request, all laid out exactly as the decree requires: A4 paper, prescribed margins, Times New Roman, a two-column heading (issuing body and reference number on one side, the national heading, place and date on the other), document type and subject line, recipient list and signature block, with page numbers starting on page two. Fields to fill in are placeholders that do not print when left empty, and the number and date that clerks write by hand keep their dotted lines.

DocAdministrative Documents AutoText

The Administrative Documents AutoText group inserts the standard Decree 30/2020 blocks: type a short code and press F3 for the national heading (QH), place and date (DD), the “To” line (KG), the subject line (VV), the recipient list (NN), the signature block (KY), the lines for signing on behalf of or by delegation (TM., KT., TL., TUQ.) and the closing (TT). Blocks keep their correct formatting when inserted into a paragraph that already contains text.

DocFull Mailings tab for mail merge

The Mailings tab offers Edit Recipient List, Address Block and Greeting Line, Match Fields, Rules, Update Labels, Preview Results, Find Recipient and Check for Errors. The Mail Merge wizard puts the Vietnamese address format first: title, family name, given name; house number and street; ward or commune; province or city.

DocNew commands on the References and Design tabs

The References tab adds Table of Authorities, Add Text (set a paragraph's outline level) and a Citation Style picker for APA, IEEE, Harvard and Chicago. The Design tab adds Theme Effects, Page Borders and galleries of Header, Footer and Page Number designs with previews. The View tab adds Reset Window Position and Cascade, and the Borders button (Home › Paragraph) applies paragraph borders as in Word.

DocRemove Vietnamese diacritics from a selection

The Remove Vietnamese Diacritics command in the Aa menu on the Home tab turns “Nguyễn Thị Đức” into “Nguyen Thi Duc”, preserving the formatting of every character, and can be undone. Handy when preparing lists for systems that do not accept accented characters. Diacritic-insensitive search now also finds “đường” when you type “duong”.

DocTable move and resize handles as in Word

Hover over a table to see a handle with a four-way arrow at its top-left corner: click it to select the whole table, or drag it to move the table. A small square at the bottom-right corner lets you drag to resize the entire table, with all rows and columns scaling proportionally in a single undo step; press Esc to cancel.

DocTable formulas with LEFT, ABOVE, RIGHT and BELOW

Table formulas understand Word's positional keywords such as sum(LEFT) and sum(ABOVE), so the same formula copied down to other rows calculates for its own row. AutoSum suggests sum(ABOVE) or sum(LEFT) where appropriate.

DocMore powerful Find and Replace: Word special codes and a match count

With regular expressions turned off, the Find and Replace dialog accepts Word's familiar special codes: ^p paragraph mark, ^t tab, ^l line break, ^s non-breaking space, ^# any digit, ^$ any letter, ^? any character, and more. For example, replace ^p^p with ^p to remove empty paragraphs. This also works in Slide and PDF. After each search, the Find bar shows “Result 3 of 6”, as in Word, so you know how many times the term appears and which one you are on. In long documents, subsequent searches are almost instant.

SheetFlash Fill (Ctrl+E)

Type the result you want for a row or two next to your data and press Ctrl+E (or Data › Data Tools › Flash Fill): MORA Sheet detects the pattern (first word, last word, initials, digits, upper or lower case and more) and fills in the remaining rows in a single undo step. Header rows are not mistaken for examples.

SheetGROUPBY and PIVOTBY functions

Two new aggregation functions group rows by row fields (and column fields) and calculate a result for each group, with field headers, subtotals and grand totals, sorting by field or value, filtering, percentages (PERCENTOF) or your own LAMBDA. The total row is labeled “Total” in the interface language. Files saved as .xlsx calculate correctly in Excel.

SheetVietnamese functions BODAU, DOCTIEN and DOCSO, plus numbers in words

BODAU(text) strips Vietnamese diacritics (“Nguyễn Thị Quỳnh Như” becomes “Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu”, and đ becomes d) for social insurance records or payroll files sent to banks. DOCTIEN(amount) spells out a sum of money in Vietnamese words, as required on invoices and payment vouchers (for example “Một triệu năm trăm nghìn đồng chẵn”, one million five hundred thousand dong), and DOCSO(number) spells out numbers including decimals; regional wording variants such as “ngàn”, “lẻ” and “tư” can be selected. The function names match the accounting add-ins many people already use in Excel, so existing files calculate right away. The number-to-words functions NUMBERTEXT, MONEYTEXT and ORDINAL are now built in, with correct Vietnamese wording and support for many other languages. Format Cells › Currency adds spelled-out formats such as “Một triệu đồng” and “MỘT TRIỆU ĐỒNG”. Numbers such as 1,005,000 are now read out in full and correctly.

SheetWatch Window

The Watch Window (Formulas › Formula Auditing) lists the cells you want to keep an eye on, showing the workbook, sheet, cell, value and formula, refreshed every second. Add the selected cells, remove entries, and double-click to jump to a cell; the window does not block your work in the spreadsheet.

SheetFunction library by category on the ribbon

Formulas › Function Library offers category menus as in Excel: Recently Used, Financial, Logical, Text, Date and Time, Lookup and Reference, Math and Trig, and More Functions. Choosing a function puts the cell into edit mode with the first argument already selected. The Home tab gains an AutoSum menu.

SheetData analysis: forecasts, slicers and timelines

The Data tab adds Forecast Sheet (based on FORECAST.ETS), Statistics, From Table/Range, Reapply for filters, and Properties. The Insert tab adds a chart type grid with subtypes, Recommended Charts, Recommended PivotTables, Combo Chart, quick sparklines, and Slicers and Timelines for filtering pivot tables with a single click.

SheetCustom views, formula evaluation and new print options

The View tab adds Custom Views, Synchronous Scrolling, and Hide and Unhide for windows. The Formulas tab adds step-by-step Evaluate Formula. The Page Layout tab adds printing of gridlines and headings, Width, Height and Scale fields, theme fonts and colors, and text direction within cells. The Review tab adds Allow Edit Ranges and Previous/Next Comment.

SheetHighlight all matching cells while searching

While the Find bar is open, every matching cell on the sheet is highlighted in yellow so you can see where they are at a glance. Closing the Find bar removes the highlighting; the file and your selection are left unchanged.

SheetConditional formatting: Duplicate Values

Conditional Formatting › Condition adds a Duplicate Values rule, as in Excel. When you create a new style for a rule, it is given a ready-made name (“Conditional Formatting 1, 2…”), so you only need to choose a font or fill color and click OK.

SlideRecording tab

The new Recording tab brings together narration and audio recording, saving as a slide show, exporting to MP4 video, screen recording and inserting images from a camera, helping you turn a presentation into a lecture or a promotional video.

SlideNew presentation commands, animations and Reading View

The Home tab adds Columns, vertical Align Text, Convert to SmartArt and Quick Styles. The Animations tab adds Trigger, Animation Painter, Move Earlier and Move Later. The Insert tab adds Zoom (summary, section and slide zoom) and an Audio menu; the Design tab adds theme Fonts and Effects; and the Slide Show tab adds monitor selection and slide show options as checkboxes. The Reading View button (View › Presentation Views) plays the slide show inside the window, starting from the current slide, without changing the file's slide show settings. Ideal for reviewing a deck while keeping other windows in view.

SlideClick a video to pause, swipe to change slides

During a slide show, clicking a video or audio clip pauses it and clicking again resumes playback, as in PowerPoint, which is very handy when teaching; clicking anywhere else still advances to the next step. On Windows touchscreens, swipe horizontally to move between slides.

PDFFillable PDF form fields

Form fields in PDF files (text boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons, list boxes and drop-downs) now open as fillable fields in MORA PDF, keeping their values, choice lists, borders, backgrounds, alignment and font size. When saved back to PDF, they remain fillable form fields. Read-only fields keep their appearance as graphics.

PDFEdit PDF text by paragraph

The lines of a paragraph in a PDF now open as a single text frame instead of one frame per line: new text wraps within the margins, Backspace joins lines just as in a normal document, and text in a table cell is no longer split into several frames. Headings, labels and list items stay separate, and the page looks exactly as it did before editing.

PDFNew page and content tools for MORA PDF

The Home tab adds Delete Page plus Align and Arrange menus; the Layout tab adds Move Page to Start, Move Page to End, Rotate Left 90°, Rotate Right 90°, and Margins, Orientation and Size menus. The Insert tab adds Header, Footer, Page Number, fields, a Comments group and PDF bookmarks; the Forms tab adds phone number, postal code and payment card fields. Also new: a graphic styles gallery, text glow effects, Word Count, Restrict Editing and Synchronous Scrolling.

Improvements 26

GeneralVietnamese search that handles every way of typing diacritics

Find in all four apps treats precomposed and decomposed Vietnamese characters (common in text copied from PDFs, web pages or macOS file names) as identical. Searching for “hoà” finds “hòa” and vice versa (likewise “thuý/thúy” and “khoẻ/khỏe”), but searching for “Hòa” does not mistakenly match “Hoàng”.

GeneralMore accurate Vietnamese spell checking

The spell checker accepts the traditional tone-mark placement (hòa, khỏe, thúy, tòa, ủy) used in the national heading “CỘNG HÒA” as specified by Decree 30/2020, so these words are no longer underlined in red. It also knows common Vietnamese administrative abbreviations (TNHH, BHXH, CCCD, MST, GTGT, QĐ, NĐ-CP, HĐQT, BGĐ, NSNN, PCCC and more) and the document type codes listed in the decree's appendix.

GeneralFind commands by their English names

The command search box (Alt+Q) now also matches English command names from the third letter typed: enter “freeze”, “pivot” or “mail merge” to find the right command, handy for people used to English-language office software.

GeneralMissing font notice when opening documents

When you open a presentation or document that uses fonts not installed on your computer (common with files created in online design tools), an info bar lists those fonts so you know why the layout looks different. Fonts that have a metric-compatible substitute (Calibri, Cambria, Arial and others) are not reported.

GeneralNew documents named by type; Open and Save As open in the right place

New documents are named and numbered by type, as in Word, Excel and PowerPoint: Document 1, Spreadsheet 1, Presentation 1, PDF 1, counting up throughout the session. Windows no longer share the same title, and the Save dialog no longer suggests overwriting a file you have just saved. The Open dialog in Doc, Sheet and Slide filters for that app's file types, and MORA PDF filters for PDFs. Save As always opens in the document's own folder, even when the file name contains Vietnamese characters or spaces, so files no longer end up in the Documents folder by mistake.

GeneralPick up where you left off: documents reopen after a restart, sidebar docks to the right

After changing the interface language or installing an extension and clicking Restart Now, MORA Office reopens the documents you had open; unsaved documents reopen as new documents of the same type. The sidebar always reopens neatly docked to the right edge of the window, like Office task panes, instead of floating over your document after closing or restarting. Sidebar panels fit their width exactly, with no horizontal scrollbar hiding the last row of buttons.

GeneralPDF export asks about comments first

Export Directly as PDF on a document with comments now asks whether to include them, with No as the default, so internal comments are not published by accident. If you choose Yes, Doc prints the comments in the margin, while Sheet and Slide add them as PDF annotations.

GeneralClearer, easier-to-understand warnings

Empty (0-byte) .docx, .xlsx and .pptx files older than 10 minutes trigger a warning that they may have been cut off during sync, with an Open Folder button. Certificate errors for https addresses are explained in plain language (untrusted, expired, wrong name, revoked). Exporting over a file that is open in another window, sending email when no mail program is set up, and adding a file that is not an extension package all show clear Vietnamese messages explaining what to do.

GeneralA more consistent Vietnamese interface

Terminology across the entire Vietnamese interface has been reviewed: one tone-mark convention, one set of color names, consistent words for “Style” and “Cancel”, Doc paragraph style names that match Word, consistent chart terminology, and no more duplicate underlined shortcut letters in 90 dialogs. Built-in table styles, Slide color schemes, the presentation size reducer and the last remaining English strings are now all in Vietnamese.

DocEditing that behaves like Word

Pressing Ctrl+E, Ctrl+R or Ctrl+J again on an already aligned paragraph returns it to left alignment. Choosing Portrait or Landscape rotates the cover page too. Double-click the top or bottom margin to add a header or footer. The default spacing between columns is 1.25 cm. The gray borders around frames and sections are gone. After inserting a caption, the cursor sits inside the caption, centered and ready for typing, and the Insert Caption dialog has an option for caption text only.

DocHandier right-click and Line Spacing menus

Right-click a selected column, row or entire table to get Insert Column Before/After, Delete Column (Row, Table), Merge, Split, Distribute and Table Properties right away. Images, charts and shapes have a Delete item in their right-click menu. The Line Spacing menu offers Add/Remove Space Before and After Paragraph (12 pt) and quick access to the Paragraph dialog.

DocShapes and images that behave like Word

Picking a shape tool draws one shape and then returns to selection mode. Pasting a shape in place offsets it by 0.5 cm so the copy is visible. Ctrl+click adds shapes to or removes them from the selection. Borders added to images hug the image. The Reset Picture button (Picture tab) removes cropping, rotation, flipping, color adjustments, borders and shadows in one step. The Link option in the Insert Picture dialog is now off by default, so images are embedded.

DocEasier editing of tables and charts

The Table tab adds Row Height and Column Width fields, Distribute Rows/Columns and a Delete menu (rows, columns, table), as in Word. Inserting a chart opens its data table right away, placed next to the chart so you can edit the numbers and watch the chart update; the Edit Data button on the Object tab reopens it. Undoing immediately after inserting removes the chart. The border style picker offers line weights from 0.25 to 6 pt.

DocPasting from the web and Excel keeps the right formatting

Tables pasted from Excel keep their borders and cell fill colors. Text pasted from web pages no longer brings along the page block's background, and the font box shows a single font (the first one installed on your computer) instead of the page's entire font list.

DocLetter, envelope and address templates in Vietnamese style

The business letter wizard lists the recipient in Vietnamese order (full name, job title, organization, address, province or city) and no longer prints a sample company logo. The Envelope dialog lists envelope sizes only. Letter, fax and agenda templates no longer open an unnecessary label sync bar, and the Address Data Source wizard only offers options that work on your computer.

SheetArray spilling and formula entry as in Excel

Formulas with nested array functions, such as =IFERROR(FILTER(…);"") or =IF(…;SEQUENCE(3);0), now spill their results across cells as in Excel instead of showing only the first value. Formulas that start with + still let you pick cells with the mouse after accepting a function suggestion. Newer Excel number formats ([$-en-US], [$-x-sysdate]) display dates correctly.

SheetEasier management of hidden rows, columns and sheets

Hidden rows or columns at the start of a sheet are marked with a thick line on the header, as in Excel, and Unhide Rows/Columns now reveals them. The cell menu adds Sort, AutoFilter and Hyperlink, and Page Break view adds Insert, Delete Cells and a Print Range group. Freeze Panes changes to Unfreeze Panes while panes are frozen. The sheet tab menu adds Protect Workbook Structure, and deleting a sheet while changes are being tracked now asks whether to stop recording instead of being unavailable. Page Break view is remembered separately for each sheet.

SheetTidier images, text boxes, Format Painter and cell display

A single click with the text box tool creates a box that grows with its text. A single selected image or shape can be centered in the cell (or merged cell) beneath it. The Crop button stays highlighted while you crop; click it again to finish. Dragging Format Painter across a selection applies to exactly that range without shifting cells. Gridlines stay visible when the workbook uses a theme with a background color. Cells containing long paths grow tall enough to show every line, and underlines no longer touch the line below. Color buttons show color names (Yellow, Red…) instead of color codes. The Vietnamese Monday…Sunday and January…December sort lists are always available, even on Windows set to an English region. Trace Error and Mark Invalid Data now clearly report when nothing is found.

SheetMuch faster opening of heavy Excel files, safer saving to Excel

.xlsx files are fully recalculated on opening only when the stored results may be out of date (files not saved by Excel or MORA Sheet, or files that request it). An Excel file with many whole-column array formulas that used to take more than 6 minutes to open now opens in 11 seconds. MORA Sheet-specific functions are written to .xlsx using Excel equivalents where possible; if a file uses functions that Excel does not have, MORA asks first and lists the functions and the cells involved. Sheet names longer than 31 characters that must be shortened when saving to .xlsx are now reported with both the old and the new name.

SlideSelect and arrange objects as in PowerPoint

Shift+click or Ctrl+click adds a text box to the selection instead of entering edit mode, and Ctrl+clicking again deselects it. A copy pasted on top of the original is automatically offset by 0.25 cm. Connector ends attached to a shape are highlighted. Format Painter now copies alignment and line spacing too. The Photo Album dialog preselects and previews newly added pictures.

SlideClearer slide display and easier slide show settings

Hidden slides appear dimmed, as in PowerPoint, instead of crossed out. Placeholder prompt text (“Click to add title”) is shown in gray so it is not mistaken for content. Text highlighting no longer covers the descenders of g, y and p on the line above. Changing the color theme on the Design tab no longer breaks empty placeholders. Animated GIFs play with the correct frames during slide shows. The Slide Show Settings dialog shows full monitor names and custom slide show names in Vietnamese, making it easy to pick the right screen when presenting with a projector. The formula pane for in-place editing opens collapsed so it does not cover the slide. Outline view keeps slide numbers correct after cut and paste. The classic text formatting toolbar no longer appears below the ribbon.

SlidePasting from the web, comments and links

Text copied from web pages or AI chat tools and pasted into a text box keeps its font size, line spacing, bold, italics, bullets and numbering. Images copied from web-based editors paste straight onto the slide. A single click on a comment marker opens the comment. Hovering over a link while editing text shows a hint to Ctrl+click to open it.

PDFPDFs open with their layout intact

Text in PDFs that use fonts not installed on your computer no longer overflows its column or overlaps other text; justified lines widen the spacing instead of stretching letters, and searching or copying no longer produces double spaces. Cropped images (in catalogs or table cells) show only the visible part and no longer cover cell borders. Semi-transparent watermarks and background patterns keep their transparency. Pages are displayed using the PDF's crop box, and links in PDFs open with Ctrl+click.

PDFMORA PDF works like a PDF reader

The MORA PDF icon opens a Start screen with a list of recent PDFs. Opening a PDF no longer locks the file, so other PDF readers can open it at the same time. Printing a PDF automatically scales pages to fit the paper. Images opened in MORA PDF get a page that matches the image size. A new PDF document saved as PDF stays linked to that file, and saving to PDF preserves comments. You can copy the text of an entire page (Ctrl+A) in the correct reading order.

PDFSmoother PDF editing

Page templates are named by paper size (for example “A4 Portrait”). The space above and below pages is reduced to 2 cm. Dragging images no longer snaps to the grid. Page background images display correctly on PDF pages. The Redact toolbar is docked beneath the ribbon, with consistent naming. The Color Replacer dialog explains how to pick the source color. The Print dialog remembers your choices (pages, odd/even, fit to page) the next time you print the same document.

GeneralPrinting: collation and two-sided printing

The Collate option in the Print dialog can be turned on again when printing two or more copies, so documents print in complete sets rather than 1-1, 2-2. Duplex printers whose drivers do not fully declare their capabilities can now still use the Paper Sides setting.

Fixes 11

SlideNo more crashes after long typing sessions

Fixed MORA Slide closing unexpectedly after about 20 minutes of continuous editing and losing unsaved work: the theme color preview on the ribbon used a little more memory with every keystroke. It now redraws only when the color scheme actually changes.

SlideImage-heavy presentations use less memory

A 240 MB presentation with 160 large images used to push memory use up to 4.5 GB without releasing it, and the slide pane stuttered while scrolling. Memory use now peaks at 2.2 GB and falls back to 0.7–1.1 GB within about 25 seconds, and scrolling back up no longer decodes the images again.

SlideInserting and saving large videos no longer hangs

Embedding videos of 28, 65 and 191 MB used to leave Slide “Not Responding” for 9, 15 and 60 seconds respectively; it now takes 1.3 to 7 seconds. Saving a .pptx with a 94 MB video dropped from 10 seconds to 4, and with a 280 MB video from 33 seconds to 14; videos are stored as-is, as in PowerPoint. Also fixed a crash when leaving a slide right after selecting a video.

SheetFixed a crash with the formula bar hidden; 16–17-digit numbers stay exact

Fixed MORA Sheet closing every time a file was opened if the formula bar had been hidden. Also fixed a crash when opening VBA macro modules in .xlsm files. Long whole numbers such as bank account and card numbers (for example 9704366501234568) used to be rounded to 9704366501234570 when saved to .xlsx and .ods; every digit is now stored correctly.

GeneralFixed crashes in MORA PDF, Outline view and macros

MORA PDF no longer closes when you click the handles around an image in a PDF opened in read-only mode. Selecting all, cutting and pasting many slides in Outline view no longer closes the app or freezes it for minutes. Python macros that catch errors while inserting content no longer crash the application.

SheetSaving to .xls, dBASE and charts without data loss

Named data ranges with filters are preserved when saving to .xls. Exporting Vietnamese text to dBASE with the Windows-1258 encoding no longer stops at the first cell containing diacritics, and Windows-1258 is selected by default when the interface is in Vietnamese. Chart titles and subtitles are preserved in .xlsx, .docx and .pptx. Exploded pie charts now separate by a moderate amount, as in Excel.

DocWord files keep their formatting

Tables that may not break across pages, drop caps, subscripts (H₂O), drop-down lists and footnote continuation notices are preserved in .docx, .doc and .rtf. Footnotes are no longer turned into protected sections. .rtf files keep repeated header rows, table border colors, image borders and page borders (common in administrative documents). Multi-word keywords in document properties are no longer split apart.

DocSave .docx in the Word 2010–365 format by default

New documents are saved as .docx and .xlsx in the Word and Excel 2010–365 format, so Word no longer opens them in Compatibility Mode. Files that came from Word or Excel keep their original format.

DocFixes for shapes, background images and picture captions

Shapes pasted into Doc from Slide, PDF or the gallery keep their line weight and arrowheads. Page background images in Word files no longer block clicks on the text. Selecting all of a caption's text and deleting it no longer deletes the image as well. Editing decorative text effects no longer shows two overlapping layers of text. The classic menu bar no longer appears below the ribbon when opening a document from the Start screen or closing another document.

SlideMore faithful PowerPoint file exchange

Slide names, the date and time in headers and footers, and embedded fonts in shapes are preserved in .pptx. Transition sounds from the built-in library are no longer dropped on save. Picture placeholders from the layout no longer appear on top of every slide. Master slides are numbered instead of all being named “Default” after saving and reopening.

GeneralFixes for the ribbon interface and files

Collapsed ribbon groups no longer stay shaded after use, and they close their menu once a command is chosen. Dark mode takes effect on the first click after startup. Hybrid PDFs (with the original document embedded) reopen with their full content. Documents in folders with paths longer than 260 characters open and save normally.

Security 3

SheetStronger sheet protection passwords

Passwords that protect sheets and workbook structure in .xlsx files now use a strong hashing algorithm, as in Excel 2013 and later, instead of the older hash that was easy to guess. Opening and unprotecting files works as before, and .xls files keep their structure passwords.

GeneralPrompt before opening embedded objects from unfamiliar files

Improved security when opening embedded objects that can launch other programs on your computer: for documents outside a trusted location, MORA Office asks first (default: No). Charts, formulas and MORA Office's own objects are not affected.

GeneralStronger security for automation connections and licensing

Improved security for automation connections from other programs (by default, accepted only from the same computer) and for activation and downloading license certificates and invoices. Computer information is no longer sent as part of web addresses.

Installation and platform 3

GeneralLicenses stay safe when you are offline

If deactivation fails because of a lost connection, a timeout or a server error, the license stays on the computer and an error is shown, so you never lose an activation. Removing a license from a computer asks for confirmation (default: No), and connection errors are explained in plain language.

WindowsA leaner, more professional installer

The installer no longer includes sample components that do not work on Windows, and the presentation size reducer is fully translated into Vietnamese. Windows Explorer integration components (preview, thumbnails and file properties) have clear display names. Upgrades in place from 26.10.0, keeping your settings and license.

WindowsCommand-line document conversion reports errors clearly

For IT teams: batch conversion commands return a non-zero exit code and log a warning when data is truncated (for example, when a CSV exceeds the maximum number of rows), and opening documents through the programming interface reports exactly why a file could not be opened (password, file in use, unreadable).
